Bonnie LawConsultingBonnie Law Consulting. On-site AI consulting for New Jersey law firms.

Services

On-site setup, then training that does not stop at the lawyers.

RPC 5.3, and because staff touch the files first.

Public tools are the wrong place for New Jersey client files.

I come to the office, stand up a private environment on the systems you already have, and train the people who touch the files.

I am a New Jersey lawyer in Farmingdale. I built this environment for my own confidential files. I work on-site within about 90 minutes of Monmouth County.

hello@bonnielawconsulting.com

Solo, nonprofit, founding-client, and diverse-team rates are on the Platform page.

Packages

Three on-site packages.

These prices are for firms of five attorneys or fewer. For larger firms, prices change as needed and are quoted.

1 day

Launch

$6,500

Best for: Five attorneys or fewer

2 days

Practice Install

$12,500

Best for: Five attorneys or fewer

3 days over 3–4 weeks

Firm System

$19,500

Best for: Larger firms, quoted

Consulting is not the Viro subscription. You can buy the day without the platform. You cannot treat the platform as a substitute for the day. You do not have to buy Viro. Viro is what I train on. I can also train on public AI tools; those will not be as confidential. The subscription starts at $2,000 a month. It increases with attorney count and whether an individualized app is needed.

Launch day

What happens on the day.

This is the Launch-day sequence. Practice Install and Firm System add days. The core does not change.

  1. 01

    Tool and account architecture

Account structure, retention, and no-training settings. The point is a contained place to work, not a public consumer login.

  2. 02

    Folder structure

Folders by practice area and matter type, on the systems the office already has.

  3. 03

    Prompts on the firm’s files

8–12 prompts saved and tested on the firm’s redacted sample files.

  4. 04

    90-minute attorney lab

Lawyers work in the environment on sample files. They leave knowing what belongs in it, what stays out of public tools, and how to treat output as draft work. Judgment stays with the lawyer.

  5. 05

    60-minute staff lab

For PI firms this orbits medical-records chronology: records, indexing, a timeline, inconsistency flags, and lawyer review. It is not generic file management. Paralegals and intake staff often touch the file first. RPC 5.3 is why they sit in the room.

  6. 06

    Policy starter

A one-page AI use policy starter and an engagement-letter paragraph the firm can edit.

  7. 07

    Fourteen days of email

Email support for two weeks after the visit. Longer packages extend that window.

Fit

Who this is for, and who it is not.

For

  • New Jersey plaintiff PI and wrongful-death firms that want AI on medical records, chronologies, demands, and discovery without consumer tools.
  • Solos and small firms that will not hire an internal knowledge-management person.
  • Offices where paralegals and intake staff handle documents first.

Not for

  • Firms that only want a one-hour CLE webinar. I do not offer CLE credit.
  • Firms looking for a public website chatbot.
  • Anyone who wants a tool that replaces attorney review.

Ethics

The rules this work sits under.

RPC 1.6: confidentiality, and reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized access to client information.

RPC 1.1: competence, including verification of AI output. See also the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on AI, Preliminary Guidelines on the Use of Artificial Intelligence by New Jersey Lawyers (Jan. 24, 2024), collected at njcourts.gov.

RPC 5.1 and RPC 5.3: supervision of lawyers and of nonlawyer staff. That is why training does not stop at the attorneys.

ABA Formal Opinion 512 (July 29, 2024). ABA ethics guidance on generative AI tools.

Lawyer judgment is not delegated.

This engagement is not legal representation of the firm’s clients.

I do not claim this prevents malpractice.

Scope

What is not included.

  • Software seats
  • A Viro subscription
  • Malpractice coverage
  • Guaranteed time savings
  • AI that files the complaint
  • A licensed product from Bonnie
  • A public chatbot

Process

How an engagement actually runs.

  1. 01

    Conversation

A call or meeting. Fit or no-fit, stated plainly.

  2. 02

    Optional written assessment

$2,500. Credited toward a package booked within 45 days.

  3. 03

    On-site day or days

Setup and labs in the office, on the systems you already use.

  4. 04

    Written guardrails

Policy starter and engagement-letter language the firm can actually use.

  5. 05

    Support window

14, 30, or 90 days of support, depending on the package.

  6. 06

    Semi-annual follow-up

We meet at least twice a year, and sooner when the tools move. A single training day ages quickly.

Before the visit

Prep checklist.

  • Three redacted sample files.
  • The current engagement letter.
  • A list of tools already in use.
  • Who will sit in the attorney lab and the staff lab.

How this started

I built this for my own confidential files first.

Public tools were useful until a client file needed to go in. Retention toggles on a consumer account were not a system I could stand behind for confidential work. I stood up a private environment on the machines I already used, with folders by matter type, saved prompts, and a rule that the file does not leave the office for a public tool. That is the setup I now bring on-site.

Products

FAQ

Questions a managing partner actually asks.

Do we have to buy Viro?

No. Consulting does not require it. Viro is what I train on. I can also train on public AI tools; those will not be as confidential as the Viro sandbox. The subscription is on the Viro page.

What is the usual first purchase?

A written assessment, $2,500, credited toward a package booked within 45 days.

Can you set this up on Claude Team, ChatGPT Enterprise, Copilot, or a legal vendor we already pay for?

Yes. Tool choice depends on the office. I do not promise a particular vendor stack.

What do we need to prepare before you arrive?

Three redacted sample files, the current engagement letter, a list of tools already in use, and who will sit in the labs.

Will you work on live client files?

I prefer redacted samples. If the firm later uses the environment on live files, that is the firm’s work. Judgment stays with the lawyer.

How do you handle redaction and sample-file selection?

Redaction is the firm’s work. I can help choose which files will actually test the workflow. We do not use live, unredacted client files as training material.

Is there a remote option for the staff lab?

On-site is the default. A remote staff lab can be discussed if that group cannot assemble in the room.

What is included in travel from Farmingdale?

On-site work within about 90 minutes of Farmingdale is treated as included. The radius, and anything beyond it, are on the Platform page.

Is this a representation?

No. This engagement is consulting for the firm. It is not legal representation of the firm’s clients.

What happens if someone at the firm already pasted files into ChatGPT?

That is a stop-the-bleeding session: remote, two hours, quoted. What to stop, what to document, what to tell the client, and a file memo. Write for a specialized package, or start from Contact.

Can associates attend, and is there a cap?

Associates may attend. The base price covers up to eight people. Additional attendees are quoted. Full attendee mechanics are on the Platform page.

The same questions are collected on the FAQ page.

Custom work

If the package is not the fit, write anyway.

If you need an AI solution that is not a Launch, Practice Install, or Firm System day, I will quote a specialized package. I will also tell you when this is not the work. Insurance defense and other practices are custom work.
